A three dimensional illustration of “The Very Sad Tale with the Matches”. Taken from Heinrich Hoffmanns children's book “Shock-Headed Peter”.The illustrations were made in acrylic paint on bristol paper in matchboxes. I tried to stay loyal to the chaotic, colorful atmosphere in the book. I did veer from the original in that in my version the little girl doesn't die in the end.
